(Gananoque, ON – August 26, 2023)

The Gananoque Seniors Association (GSA) is enrolling new members to become part of their group. Currently they have more than 130 people, but are hoping others will join them.

“We are offering membership at only $35 per year for individuals or $60 for two years,” said GSA Chair Cliff Edwards. “And we charge $40 for a household and $75 for two years.”

Formed in 2022, the organization has space at the old Odd Fellows Hall (better known as the Community Living Centre) at 26 Mill Street in Gananoque. They not only have an office there, but are allowed a bright, open area for holding various programs. Classes are also held at the Gananoque Public Library, Gananoque Arts Network, Churchill’s, Grace United Church and St. Andrew’s.

“We held programs for free to registered members in the past, but that wasn’t sustainable,” said Edwards. “This year we have added tuitions to help cover costs.”

Prices for the different classes range from $55 to $100, and the courses include Acoustic Guitar, Beginner French, Beginner’s Knitting, Better Balance, Chair Yoga, Essentrics, Intro to Cricut, Learn to Draw, Line Dancing, Mandala Meditation, Melt, and My Story. Membership in good standing is required in order to participate in the different programs.

A second chance at registration will be available at the Mill Street location on Thursday and Friday, August 31 and September 1, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. for those who missed the first dates.
