Lots to consider

Almost five months old, and I’m still chugging. Not as much as I was, or as well as I’d like, but I’m still here.

Several readers have commented that they are seeing ads on the blog. These have been placed there by WordPress. I have been informed that they are not “wordads” (for which I had signed up), so I am not receiving income from these, although I may at some point in the future. I’m sorry if anyone mistakenly thought I was.

The new print magazine in Brockville has been taking a lot of my time. I have done three articles for them so far, and am doing three more and the cover for the January issue. Although it isn’t huge, it’s a lot better than nothing, and I hope to see it grow into something better as it goes. Eventually, it will probably become available on-line, and everyone will get a chance to see it.

My mystery illness has turned out to be shingles, so I’m trying to keep up, but progress is slow. I have not forgotten anyone and, although I am definitely behind, I am catching up. Please bear with me – as I finish the pieces, they are going up for your perusal and approval.

Meanwhile, I am starting a new section called “My Life, My Way”. This is just whimsy, a bit of what is actually happening to me as opposed to the usual local events and other tidbits. If you like the page, please let me know. Otherwise, it’s just fluff and can be discontinued.

Thanks to everyone who is taking the time to check me out, bookmark me, and follow along. Your constructive thoughts and comments are all appreciated, and I hope you’re spreading the news to everyone you know. Facebook is still coming along slowly, and I hope to get the hang of it fairly soon now.

My greatest thanks and appreciation to the local Health Unit for the information I’ve been putting on the Health and Wellness page. These advisories are very useful for everyone living in the Leeds-Grenville area of Ontario, and I do NOT want to see anyone getting sick if they don’t need to. Please remember, they are local, and have their coverage area on them.

PGA Tour Canada is also to be thanked tremendously for their input. All of the material you’ve been seeing on the Golf page is from them. These are their materials – I’m just making them available for all of you to read. And please DO read them! I know there are a lot of golfers out there, and they just aren’t getting the coverage they should.

I am still trying to find a local contact in the Gananoque area to bring you all the scores and coverage available. Once the curling season starts, there will be lots of pictures from the Gananoque Curling Club, and I will always do what I can to cover the other areas as well.

Occasional pieces also come in from the MP and MPP for Leeds-Grenville, and I post them as they arrive.

I hope you continue to like what you see, and have no qualms about sharing. Your thoughts and ideas are very important to me. If I’m not covering something you want to see, please let me know and I’ll see what I can do. It isn’t possible to cover everything, but it’s time these pieces got out there and with your help this can become the sort of information source people in this area are looking for.
