PGA TOUR Canada – Tournament will continue in Fort McMurray through 2016

(July 4, 2013 – Fort McMurray, AB) – The Syncrude Boreal Open presented by AECON will be a part of the PGA TOUR Canada schedule through 2016. The tournament, which will begin its third playing next week, will see Syncrude Canada Ltd. stay on as title sponsor and AECON extend as presenting sponsor for three more seasons.

“We’re ecstatic that Syncrude and AECON will continue to support this event through 2016,” said PGA TOUR Canada President Jeff Monday. “The whole city really seems to get behind this tournament, and there really is a great atmosphere around the event. We look forward to many great tournaments in Fort McMurray to come.”

The $150,000 event is one of nine on the PGA TOUR Canada schedule this summer that will see players chase the top five spots on the season-long Order of Merit, earning Web.com Tour cards for 2014.

The third playing of the Syncrude Boreal Open presented by AECON will take place next week, July 8-14 at Fort McMurray Golf Club.
