(GANANOQUE, ONTARIO) Get ready for a hot time on the St. Lawrence River while supporting a great cause as the Gananoque Fire Fighters Association presents their 10th annual fundraiser, a magnificent 1000 Island Boat Cruise on board the Gananoque Boat Line’s Islander IV, Saturday, September 28, 2013.
“We want everyone to know that all proceeds from this event will go to helping out kids’ programs in Gananoque,” says Blake Richardson, professional fire fighter stationed in Gananoque. At $15 apiece, tickets are a great value. Boarding time is 5:30 pm with departure at 6:00 pm for a four hour cruise through the breathtaking 1000 Islands. They may be purchased from any Gananoque Fire Fighter, and are available at the Fire Station at 340 Herbert Street. Be sure to buy early to guarantee your place on this wonderful tour.
A tradition in the town of Gananoque, many elements of this cruise have been contributed free of charge to help with this fund raiser. Live music will be performed by the Trevor Walsh Group. Plenty of refreshments and prizes will be available to make it a truly spectacular evening.
“The Gananoque Fire Department has always believed strongly in community involvement, and this is just one of the many fund raisers we hold every year to raise money for kids’ activities in our area,” says Richardson. Some of these events have been held annually for 30 years or more, and they are always open to suggestions for new events and ideas.
For more information or to buy tickets, please contact any local firefighter or go to the Fire Station at 340 Herbert Street, Gananoque. You can also call them at the station at 613-382-3334, or contact Blake Richardson at brichardson@gananoque.ca .
