Blue Piano Coming to Gananoque

(GANANOQUE, ONTARIO) Get ready for some fun musical art as the Blue Piano comes to Gananoque on Thursday, August 29. The piano is being installed, and festivities will begin at 4:00 pm at the Farmers Market in Town Park as Monika Seiler and Alison Macdonald from “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” (currently playing at the Thousand Islands Playhouse) come out to play a little something for those assembled at the site.

Inspired by internationally known British artist Luke Jerram’s project, “Play Me, I’m Yours!”, the piano will be in the park for the next four weeks. Everyone is welcome to come out and give it a try, see how it feels to be the next open air concert maestro.

“We want to say thank you to the Helen Henderson Care Centre and Shannon Treanor for donating the pianos, and a big thank you to public works for moving the pianos,” said Pam Staples. “And yes, we do have two of them.”

A second piano will be coming during Doors Open and Culture Days to help liven things up. Thanks are also extended to the CCPF for the grant that helped this to happen.
