Every Kid in Our Communities (EKIOC) is promoting the Power of Positive Parenting by Triple P as a widespread initiative within Leeds & Grenville counties.

The benefits of positive parenting are:

— Positive parenting aims to make it easier for parents to develop a positive loving relationship with each other and with their children.

— It uses encouragement, attention and good communication.

— A positive parenting approach will help family life run smoother.

— Positive parenting increases the opportunity for children to achieve optimum physical and emotional health.

Through the Triple P initiative, resources have been donated by the EKIOC Triple P Working Group to libraries in Leeds & Grenville in order to promote awareness and access to positive parenting information.

The following area public libraries have partnered with EKIOC in support of positive parenting:

· Merrickville Public Library

· Kemptville Public Library

· Leeds and the Thousand Island Public Library

· Brockville Public Library

· Rideau Township Public Library

· Ganonoque Public Library

· Athens Public Library
