A hoppin’ and a boppin’ to the Crocodile Rock!

(Gananoque, ON) In the dog days of August, there’s nothing better than hanging with all the cool cats at the annual Gananoque and District Humane Society Fur Ball! The costume cruise of the season, you glide blissfully along with the 1,000 Islands Cruises Rockport Boat Line, snacking on delicious homemade food and strutting like a peacock. It’s a chance to bring out your inner party animal while you dance the time away to the sounds of R-Banned, cover group extraordinaire, playing all of your classic party favourites from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Pussycat, Pussycat, we hope you’re ready to Crocodile Rock your way to helping a great cause.

A costume optional affair, come as your favourite beast – whether krazy kitty, dashing dog, or even Ninja Turtle, the fun is in the fantasy. If you don’t want to wear a costume, that’s fine. If you want and don’t have, GDHS has a rent-tail programme just for you. Bits and pieces are available for a small donation for the evening, even an entire animal set, with every penny going to support the Shelter in Gananoque! Check the mirror and you’ll be horse-laughing at how well you fit in with your friends and neighbours at this great wag-tail event.

“You can dip into our Furball Party Costume Trunk on board for hats, noses, ears, wigs, glasses – we’re on it and you’re sure to find that perfect something,” said Arlene Massey of Gananoque and District Humane Society.

So, all you night owls, turtle doves and prancing flamingos, head out to the Rockport Boat Line, 23 Front Street in Rockport, at 6:00 pm sharp on August 14 and become part of the wildlife. Tickets are $25 each for adults, $12 for kids twelve and under, with food and a cash bar available during the 2 hour cruise. Bring your cameras to stalk the game and bring home that perfect trophy.

Get ready to go bats as you dance the night away on the upper deck and turkey trot, bunny hop and pony with the best of them. We can’t wait to see you at the zaniest party around!
