(Clayton, NY) What does every Camaro want to be when it grows up? Why, a ’57 Chevy BelAir, of course!
And that won’t be the only great sight to be seen at the 4th Annual Two Nations 1000 Islands Extravaganza to be held May 16-18 at the Cerow Recreation Center, East Line Road in Clayton, NY.
“It will be a weekend of cars, crafts and music,” says the Highway Legends Car, Truck and Motorcycle Club. “In addition to several hundred cars, we will have the Crafters Village, Live music, demonstrations, raffles, kids games, parade and more. Friday 5 – 8 pm, Saturday 9 am – 7 pm, and Sunday 10 am – 4 pm. Free admission however we will be accepting donations for the Jefferson County Historical Society and Local Jefferson County Food Pantries. Proceeds from the show will go to the Zoo at Thompson Park in Watertown, New York.
“Due to the heavy rain expected this Friday, the outside tent will not be going up until Saturday morning, which looks good weather wise. We are moving Rod Richmond inside for his acoustical jam with his friends. All is not lost! There will be cars and vendors set up inside as well as Coyote Moon with their wine slushies and beer garden. So come on out for a fun evening of live music and Coyote Moon. Saturday is going to be a great day of cars, crafters, food and more live music outside. Please spread the word!”
Due to its amazing popularity last year, the model car competition will be held again, and looks like it could become an annual event.
“Applicants will compete in two divisions: Junior (17 and under) and Adult (18 and over),” says the Club website.
There will be judging for eight (8) different classes of models. These will be Classic and Antique, Street Cars, Custom Cars, Trucks and Commercial Vehicles, Emergency Vehicles, Military, Motorcycles and the Best in Show for both Junior and Adult.
Applications can be made on-line, or at the show itself. Skill and ingenuity are highly prized, and the competition is great fun for all.
