There is a lot of joyful noise rising out of Camp Merrywood, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.  An Easter Seals camp located near Perth, it takes 72 very special campers per ten day session, and always finds itself filled to capacity with bright, eager participants.  While about 95 percent of campers come from Ontario, many also come from Newfoundland, and the occasional international camper joins the group.  While the campers may have conditions like spina bifida, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, or a host of other daunting physical conditions, during their time at Merrywood they are simply kids out to have a great time in a wonderful environment. Be Tick Smart during the Hunting Season

(LEEDS-GRENVILLE, ON) – Hunting season is upon us and the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit would like to remind those enjoying hunting activities to be aware that they also share the great outdoors with ticks that can make them sick. Lyme disease is caused by being bitten by an infected tick. In Leeds, Grenville and Lanark, we have several different types of ticks. Lyme disease is caused by the bite of an infected black-legged tick (also known as deer ticks). There is an increasing number of areas where ticks carrying Lyme disease are found. (GANANOQUE, ON) – It’s time to get out the bells and whistles, party hats and streamers. For those who have benefitted to those who will benefit to those who follow the lifestyle and continue to benefit, today is the 118th birthday of chiropractic care.

Harvey Lillard was a janitor working for D. D. Palmer back in 1885. Palmer had noticed that Lillard would not respond to questions unless he had seen the face of the person speaking to him, and quickly learned that Lillard had lost most of his hearing. When questioned, Lillard explained that he had heard a loud popping sound in his neck about ten years previously which then deteriorated into the deafness he now suffered from. – to read more>

(LEEDS-GRENVILLE, ONTARIO) Some children have harsh or raspy voices. They may have a voice problem. Some voice problems in children are because of breathing or reflux issues, or the child may have some undetected nodules or polyps in their throat. Some voice problems are present at birth and some may develop later. All children with voice problems must be seen by an Ear Nose and Throat Specialist to determine the cause of the problem. Voice therapy with a Speech-Language Pathologist may also be needed. – to read more>
